Mo’ Jam Mondays launching live weekly radio show on Rainier Avenue Radio starting on Christmas

On Christmas Day 2017 #MoJamMondays premieres its 4-year anniversary episode on internet radio station www.RainierAvenueRadio.World, and will air a new episode every Monday from 10-11pm PST.

Mo’ Jam Mondays has become a staple in the Seattle music scene as a weekly gathering for Seattle musicians to network and create original music, held at Nectar Lounge in Fremont.

Mo’ Jam Presents also launched its new website www.MoJamPresents.com, featuring content from its last four years, a community events calendar, and soon a retail section to promote local music and visual artists.

Since December 2013, drummer Morgan "Mo'" Gilkeson has led her vision of an all-inclusive groove-based music jam like the one in your basement. Attendees are assigned to a new band each song, and they make it up onstage. Nothing is rehearsed and everything is organically improvised.

It has grown into a multi-genre, inter-generational community that welcomes musicians of all kinds, visual artists, poets, dancers and more. Mo' Jams provides an opportunity for artists to network and create music in a welcoming environment, and for music lovers to enjoy this raw showcase of talent.

Mo’ Jam Presents has hosted youth/all-ages jams at Sea Monster Lounge, NW Folklife, and Make Music Day. It has also been featured on Seattle Channel 13’s Band in Seattle, on the cover of Earshot Jazz Magazine, and nominated for best jazz performance in 2016 by Earshot Jazz.

Mo’ Jam Mondays will debut on December 25, 2017 with its 4-year anniversary episode (#206 recorded live on December 11th), and air its second show on New Years’ Day 2018 (#207 recorded live on December 18th).

Mo’ Jam Mondays will also be broadcasting Live from Nectar Lounge every other week starting January 8, 2018, with featured artist Evan Flory-Barnes, jazz bassist of the band Industrial Revelation. The radio show will rotate every other week between live broadcasts and previously broadcast shows from its archive of more than 200 episodes.

The radio show “Mo’ Jam Mondays” will include live improv jams and brief interviews with attendees, and will be hosted by Mo’ Jams Founder Morgan Mo’ Gilkeson, Creative Director & Drummer Davy Nefos, and RAR Media Director & Promoter Karen KZ Zammit.
